Understanding Your Analytics: Clicks, Devices, and Geography
Every TinyX link records its activity automatically. Here's how to read it.
Viewing analytics for a link
- Open Links in your dashboard
- Click the link you want to inspect
- Open Analytics
What's tracked
The same breakdowns are available on every plan, Free included:
- Clicks over time: a chart of activity by day, useful for spotting peaks after a campaign or post
- Country and city: derived from the visitor's IP address
- Device: desktop, mobile or tablet
- Browser and operating system
- Referrer: where the visit came from, when the browser reports it
- Event log: individual events such as visits, redirects, downloads and password attempts
Plans differ only in how far back the history goes (see below).
History (log retention)
| Plan | History kept |
|---|---|
| Free | 7 days |
| Pro | 90 days |
| Max | 365 days |
Older events are deleted automatically every night. If you need longer history, upgrade your plan.
Real-time
Visits show up within seconds. There's no next-day batch.
Your dashboard
The dashboard shows your usage against your plan's limits and a summary of recent visitor activity.
Common questions
Why don't my numbers match another tool? Tools count differently (unique visitors versus every request, bot filtering, and so on). Small differences are normal.
I see visits from a country I don't recognize. Is something wrong? Usually not. Link scanners and preview bots in chat and email apps often open links right after they're shared, and they show up as visits.
Can I tell QR code scans apart from clicks? No. A scan opens the same short link, so it's recorded like any other visit.
Can I see who clicked, by name or email? No. TinyX records technical details (IP-derived location, device, browser, referrer), not identities. The only names or emails you'll see are ones people type into your questionnaires.
